Jamaica Independent Schools Association Inter-Prep Champs Starts Today

The fourth staging of the Bigga-Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) Inter-Prep Track and Field Championships will commence today and run until June 5 at the National Stadium.


The meet is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. on the first two days and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while finishing before 6 o'clock on each day.

Over 2,000 athletes will compete at the 34-event meet which will comprise four classes and will feature events such as the long and high jumps.

The championship has attracted 52 schools, the most in its 33-year history, including three new comers: Valley Christian Ministries Prep, Little Angels Child Development Centre Prep and Sacred Heart Academy.

JISA Championships, which is the beneficiary of increased sponsorship from main sponsor the Wisynco group, will enforce all the IAAF standards with the exception of the false-start rule

ARDENNE with a combined 55.50 points have taken the lead on the second day of the three-day 2010 BIGGA/JISA Inter-Prep Schools Track and Field Championships at the National Stadium Friday.
